The ProtectID Project aimed to build a set of innovative services and solutions for security purposes within the context of digital identity management, paying particular attention to the protection of privacy and the sharing of personal information online. Innovative models and techniques were developed to manage privacy policies and the sharing of personal information, as well as to manage the security of identity providers (IDPs) and to detect fraud using big data analysis.
As part of the project, SCAI Lab designed and prototyped an effective and comprehensive cyber security and sentiment analysis system. The first consisted of a vulnerability assessment and risk rating module to calculate the level of exposure to malicious cyber activities. The second system was designed to extract and identify opinions from texts and comments posted by users online to assess the online reputation of organisations.
The project was a response to the following call for tenders: “2014-2020 Operating Programme – Large R&D Projects – Digital Agenda or Sustainable Industry referred to in the Ministerial Decree of 1 June 2016.
